We are trying to calculate the optimal slope for a driveway. We have set up the spreadsheet "Driveway Slope Calcs" but are missing a few calculations. Specifically, we need a formula to calculate the approach/departure angle when there is a graduated slope (two different grades) at the bottom of the driveway as shown by the Departure angle.jpg. The Slope 2D model.jpg shows the known sides and angles of the triangle in question. We need an Excel formula to calculate the angle of the car when the front wheels are at the bottom of the driveway and the rear wheels are on the second slope.

I have come up with an equation. It has 4 variables.

- Angle of first ramp.
- Angle of second ramp.
- Length of first ramp.
- Wheelbase.

Which produces the angle that the car sits on the ramps.
Do you have any known values for these numbers that I can compare my results to?
I would like to double check my equation before I submit it.
