Contest Brief

Need a logo for a new company in financial services. Looking for something classy and simple. The feel is more conservative in nature. We are leaning more towards a text-only logo but will consider an accompanying design element (e.g. box, border). The branding of the company name is more important than an accompanying logo or image. See the examples of Jo Malone / Solamere Capital / Goldman Sachs.

We like neutral colors -- black, grey, white, with blue possibly as a color option.

The name of the company is Arch Lane Capital. We're thinking more of a serif font than sans serif. Arch Lane would probably be more dominant than Capital if the names are stacked vs. written on one line. Play with the spacing of the letters in Arch Lane and placement and sizing of Capital to create an interesting design. SEE THE ATTACHED EXAMPLES.

I've uploaded several logos that we like that fall in the simple but elegant category.

Play around with marrying the features of the Jo Malone (border / spacing) and Solamere Capital (font style to distinguish name from capital -- size, style, and placement). You may also want to play with a dividing line (a la John Freida and LVMH) if you do not use a box or border. We're not looking for you to re-invent the wheel. We really just want some clean and screams high quality (premium brand).
