A series of vector illustrations that follow the scenes set out below. We require a couple of characters created based off of our reference material in a style based off of our logo and the textures we have included. There are to be 10 scenes created and we require these to be completed by the 15th July. Files are to be supplied in Illustrator as ai and eps. These need to be simple graphical illustrations with slightly absract quality of the characters and environments. We don’t want it becoming too pictorial. These will then be used to become an animation.
A charming little love story - seen between two little abstract illustrated creatures representing a client, and an agency.
Think of them like ‘Minions’ - with no arms and legs. They’re drawn in a sketch style that matches the Scratch logo, perhaps against a textured paper background. There’s a childlike feel to everything, but with interesting little quirks in the character design and animation that makes it simple - not basic.
It’s all set to a minimal, emotive little music track… and the story is told by a series of typeset graphics that appear in the negative space around the picture.

A relationship story
We open on a single little creature happily holding a sparkler as it burns down.
Type: Sometimes things start… but they don’t keep going.
It fizzles out just leaving a little wisp of smoke. Our little creature is momentarily disappointed… until another little creature rolls into the picture from the other side of screen, and they start to make eyes at each other.
Type: You meet someone new.
The first little creature starts to inch it’s way over towards the newcomer… one little slide-bounce at a time.
Type: You see lovely possibilities.
Sparkles and rainbows and flowers appear and disappear around the ‘lovely possibilities’ type as our hero inches closer…
Type: But all too often… they disappear.
Just as he was getting there, the newcomer sees something more exciting offscreen and whizzes away. Our little creature takes a deep breath and sighs.
Type: They lose interest.
In a quick cut, we see our little creature next to a new potential companion.
But they’re too busy looking at themselves in a mirror to notice ‘him’.
Type: They want more and more.. and give less and less.
Another quick cut shows see our little creature with a third potential companion.
‘He’ pulls out an enormous gift wrapped box… they grab it, and toss him an apple core in return..
Type: Until it all just stops.
We then see our little
Type: But with us… you’ll find a little more.
A new little creature appears. It’s ‘Scratch blue’. The rain stops and a little sun comes out.
Type: Because we don’t just see where you are… but where you could be.
As they look at each other, an ‘imaginary’ kings crown, superhero cape and angel wings appear in place around our little creature.
Type: So we’ll always be there.
We see the two little creatures climbing a mountain together.
The Scratch one is helping pull our hero up over a rough bit.
Type: We’ll always surprise you.
We see them reaching the top, where a romantic little picnic is laid out.
Our hero reacts with surprise and delight.
Type: We’ll get right to the bottom of things… and make some magic happen.
We see our little creatures, on the picnic blanket, rolling around in a passionate if arm-less embrace.
Type: Because that’s how momentum really starts.
They roll off the blanket - and down the mountain - becoming a big rolling snowball that gets bigger and bigger and bigger.
It grows and grows, gathering up towns, then cities… as we pull out and out until we just see a huge snowball rolling around and around the globe.
Type: And that’s how success, never finishes.
The globe and snowball become a scribble, that resolves into the Scratch logo.
Underneath, the words ap
