Company "One Liner" or "Tagline" or "Slogan"

Ringkasan Peraduan

We are a printing commercial company who need to get a company statement as explained in the video below.

We are called A&O. This came from the phrase, "It's like comparing apples and oranges" as we want to be uncomparable in our levels of services and how we care for the client's work.

We care about our customer's goals and helping them reach them.

We help our clients so they can be really confident in their printing supplier and know the service is friendly and reliable and always great quality.

We like the Donald Miller Storybrand "one-liner"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HFergI0UOAs

We want to include the following elements.

Use "Apples & Oranges" in the sense of we cannot be compared. This is not essential but would be great if we can work it in.

Use some words to describe the move from chaos to order.

The end results delivering confidence that the printing job is done and the stress is removed from the process.

Imagine a stack of swirling paper (them before they use us)

moving to all fall neatly and gently into a clean and perfect stack (their work after they use us)

LESS IS MORE
LESS IS MORE
LESS IS MORE

IF WE CAN REDUCE THE STATEMENT TO FEWER WORDS IT IS BETTER.
SOME EXAMPLES BELOW TO SHOW THE SORT OF PROBLEM/SOLUTION/POSITIVE OUTCOME IDEA

Hello CH, why did you close the contest before it's expiration??? I've been working on it for 2 days and currently I am on my TENTH SLIDE!!!!! This is so unprofessional and not fair to freelancers. We need time because this is not the only contest we are working on. I am so unpleasantly surprised and very disappointed. Huge mistake for someone who consider himself a pro. Do you treat your customers like this? I don't think so. Put yourself in our shoes. I am so, so, so, sorry I wasted my time on you! I watched the video, did a brainstorming and started to write. IT'S A PROCESS and needs inspiration and time. It is not a button service. You should know better than bring decisions led by negative emotions. Even if the winning line fulfilled the brief for you, it is certainly not the reason to treat the rest who were about to submit like you did. I am socked to say the least.

I agree with Aleksandra - spent hours working on it, just to log back in and not being able to find the contest. Now I see why - it was closed before the expiration time. This should just not even be allowed by the platform. And in addition, the winning entry doesn't comply with any of the requirements. There go the 30 min of the video watching.

    How did that win?

A&O, Your Print People Exceptional printing and direct mail services Helping businesses grow "

It does not even make sense, i mean Apples and Oranges for a company printing name is terrible as well.

Read the description and watched the video and made my best to come up with one-liner as per your requirements. Can you please clarify where is the three elements described on the video in your winning one-liner (PROBLEM-RESOLUTION TO PROBLEM-HAPPY END)?

The winning line has fulfilled the brief for me. The problem for the client is they want a successful printing campaign. This can mean quick delivery for some, cheap for others, high quality for yet another and then there are those customers who want it all......just for the record, I am one of those ;o) So the problem has been neatly covered with the word exceptional printing service. The result or "happy ending" if you like is that we will help the customer's business grow though our services. I hope this makes sense.

I sympathize with the CH here. 99% of the entries are from people who barely grasp the most basic conventions of the English language and then proceed to complain when he (very politely) turns down their shoddy work.

Ahh !! I now see where the contest holder is coming from. He simply got frustrated with all the spam entries and just awarded a random winner. The problem is there was still a lot of time left for the contest and most quality entries often wait until the last minute before submission to avoid other freelancers copying their work. For what its worth, If perhaps you are going to use this platform again in the future you can sternly make it a rule that every freelancer should compile all their content into a single entry, that way freelancers will not submit multiple times, it will lead to less clutter and you'll save time going through entries. Yes we can actually see the entries unless you pay freelancer to seal all entries or freelancers pay to have their entry sealed so no one else but the contest holder can view it. But at the end once a winner is declared the winning entry becomes visible to everyone.

No disrespect to any parties involved BUT this is simply ridiculous!

With the guidelines being so precise and after genuinely being one of the very few here (up until I submitted mine not even ONE person had read the description) who truly watched the whole of the 30 minutes of the referred video, stuck to the instructions and was waiting to submit another entry later on towards the closing, this entry won it already?!?!?!

    I'm flummoxed.

Where's the Problem? The solution? And the successful ending?? Those were the three main elements prescribed by Miller.

Moreover, there is no allusion to "apples & oranges" and comparison. Where's the "chaos to order" bit?

If the need was simply for a basic, generic "motto" or the basal advertising catchphrase, why add the fluff and mislead whilst "rejecting" entries?

Anyway, this is all a roulette I'm getting to grasp and not exactly based on what's delivered as per the description since clients appear to be unclear themselves.

    Cheers!

      Hi there!

I'm surely surprised that you've taken this in good spirit because erstwhile most would've taken offence. I duly commend and respect that.

I was just a bit grouchy owing to that particular entry randomly sliding in and getting to win without even ticking a single box as per the criteria. The thing is that once you "reject" an entry, it's pretty much visible even if sealed and I did read all of the entries that were being posted. I do acknowledge that majority of entries are simply useless across the board, and not just for your contest. I can't do anything in my individual capacity as the system on the site is such but I do regularly see 90% of submissions that don't even proofread, leave aside fulfilling the prerequisites. The irony there is that such entries win just like here hence my deduction that maybe you simply wanted that all along and the description was merely there (which now I see wasn't the case at all).

It's unfortunate that out of sheer frustration you had to take the decision to close the contest. I'd appreciate the opportunity to bounce off whatever ideas I do have with you since I did jot down some to share later. However, I can't do that unless you initiate a chat using the feature of messaging that's available to the contest holder through the profile. So, if you'd like to exchange thoughts, please do write in.

      Thanks!

WOW!! unbelievable. So this is the winning entry. The contest holder shouldn't have bothered with the rewritten description then. I do feel he should have at least told us he would end the contest as soon as he gets what he wants. I submitted yesterday but withdrew immediately because i wanted to make edits and assure my self that the entry was perfect, oh well...... congrats to the winner i guess. All my work is pretty useless now so to the contest holder you can have it for free no worries, just let me know how to get it across since i can't submit it anymore.

Thanks all for your input. I wrote a brief that was rarely followed so I rewrote it. It is call a "One Liner" by the very well know author, Donald Miller. I supplied a thorough explanation on a your tube link for everyone to see but only one person followed it out of nealr 70. There are comments here suggesting I am making fun, believe me I don not have time to make fun. The pages load slowly and going through these submissions has been quite time consuming and without benefit. The quality of the entries is truly without merit. I have three competitions and the other two have goi=ne very well indeed but they were not based on the English language so perhaps that was my error thinking a lot of quality submissions would be made.

Hi. Thank you for thorough and detailed explanation. I appreciated the video link and the sample one liners. I felt that you were already doing what should be our job. I hope that you could provide inputs on entry #115 , so I could further improve the tone, word choices, and thoughts to be highlighted / excluded. Thanks !

Thanks for the clarification. I'm sure you'll receive more acceptable entries from now. Since you are having some trouble opening entries, i suggest you sternly make it clear in the description for all contestants to compile all their one liners into a single entry. That way a single individual won't submit multiple entries.

I would request the contest holders to be precise and appreciate time put in by freelancers. If you do not want a one liner, why is it the title of this contest. In addition you want it to be mentioned on the phone. You want to mention 2 sentences every time on the phone. All the best.
