Contest Brief

Create a Business Name and Domain Name for a new business.

The business is a startup business specializing in athlete monitoring and coaching solutions. We need to find a good name for the business that has an available .com domain, and does not infringe any trademarks.

The name must :
1. Be simple and elegant
2. Have an available .com. ATTENTION: Domains that are for sale through auction, bidding process or second market will NOT qualify.
3. Convey a perception appropriate to the business (see details below).
4. Be Phonetic in the English language

The deliverable is the Business Name. We will register the domain name ourselves. The winner will be the best domain name we choose.

Please ensure the domain is available for registration by checking first.

The business will make products that :
- Provide useful metrics to elite athletes and coaches
- Uses science and technology to improve performance
- Use sensors to measure athlete performance
- Provide for improved performance, health and well-being
- Assist rehabilitation
- Are accurate
- Are well designed
- Are high quality

I don't know why the entry system asks for an image. I can't turn that off either. This is not required, so feel free to put any image or something basic there.

It was a wonderful contest, Unique challenge was to find the availability of the domain, That made this intense and interesting. I would love to know the winner though I ended up only with three stars at the best.

Update. There are now 6 4-star entries, 35 3-star entries. Still no 5-star entries....
Shame I can't say what the top ones are to guide everyone, but they are all phonetically spellable, ie if you heard them on the phone you could spell them. The number of syllables varies a lot (3 to 8), though the more promising ones are 3 syllables. I hope that helps.

Tried a couple days ago and again today. Cannot post for some reason. No explanation given. Is there some sort of fee that must be paid to post an entry? Is there a secret word I have to utter? Maybe a dance to the Internet gods that must be perforned? I have three good ideas that you apparently cannot see. Any way to get this darned thing to work?

  For some reason you have to put in photo, title (even though it says optional) plus tick the box it is original work. Logo isnt required for this contest but you have to put in some sort of image

I found out what was wrong with my entry attempts. Even though YOU don't require an image, this MickeyMouse system does require one. I recommend that you include a statement to that effect in your instructions to avoid missing some entries that may be interesting.

Hi Guys. A LOT of entries have "athlet..." in them. I think we need to think a little outside the box, and incorporate some aspects of metrics, measuring, coaching, performance improvement etc. Also, it should be reasonably short, and be sound cool (or not really boring). I hope that helps. Cheers.

I just wanna ask if your priority is the business name and domain name. I have an idea in mind but on your No. 3 requirement might not qualify my entry. I think your No. 3 requirement requires a logo. I would suggest that the No. 3 requirement will bring you better output if you do it in separate event.

Well, it's just a suggestion. It's up to you anyway.

  Hi. Apologies for the confusion, by 'image' i meant 'impression' rather than the literal. There is no imagery required and you are quite right, we will have a separate event for the logo. Would be delighted to see your entry. Will amend the details.
