This contest is to create animations of a dog digging a hole and finding some objects. The dog should dig up at least two things, throw them to the side, then dig up a bone from the same hole and happily hold it in his mouth.

Things that the dog could find before finding a bone will make him happy are:

Leash
Frisbee
Ball
Picture of other dogs
A stick

Other things that he could find that would make him sad are:

Tin Can
Trash
An Old Shoe
A "No Dogs Allowed" sign

(Use your imagination - the list is not limited to what is above)

Pick any of the two from above for your animation. The third object is a bone.

In the animation you shouldn't see inside the hole. He should dig then pull something out and throw it to the side. Some things he finds make him happy, others make him sad.

The more photo realistic you can make the animation, the better. This has to be terrific, something that makes the viewer smile.

You need to create at least 5 combinations of objects (Ball, Leash, Bone - Leash, Trash, Bone - Frisbee, Ball, Bone, etc), all ending with the dog finding his bone. The animations should be in GIF format. You will have to post it somewhere for me to see as you can only post static images to the contest screen.

The GIF image should have a transparent background and be 256x256 resolution.

The animation should run a maximum of 7 seconds. If you can get more than 3 objects into the animation and have it still at 7 seconds, that's even better.

To Kanigan and Pinky - I'll be providing you with some individual feedback. I am very happy with what you have done so far. Your work is excellent. It's hard creating something not knowing if you're even going to get paid for it. I honestly have no idea of why anyone would even spend the time entering a contest on Freelancer :-)

So, I think that I will extend the contest. There is one clear winner right now, anyone can look at the graphics and tell who it is. However, I intend to have more than one winner. At least 2, perhaps 3. Depends on the quality. I really want everyone to study what Kanigan has done though and my comments to him. (Sorry Kanigan :-). I'm of the belief that crowdsourcing improves the content I assure you that I can tell who came up with a concept first. It's this creativity that I love and will reward. If you can't produce the quality of Kanigan or Pinky, then this is not the contest for you. If you think you can beat it, then you have a little extra time to do so.

Plus I know that animation takes some time. I am looking for very smooth work. 10 seconds is the ideal animation time (could be a bit longer or shorter). 256x256 or 256x512 size. Needs to look fantastic, the more real the better. With that said, Pinky has done a great job with cartoon dogs.

I have a lot of animation work to be done, and this contest was my way of finding a few people who can do a great job for me, so it means more than just the $500 (plus the first place bonus I promised). The dog really needs to dig deep for the bone --- literally disappearing into the hole. This needs to be high-quality, smooth graphics please. Nothing choppy.

What about the transparent background? As I have understood the screen size of the animation should be 256x256 & the final format you want is Animated GIF am I right.

Hello - yes, a 2D animation of the dog is fine. You would see the side of the dog, and the ground would take up about half the screen, the sky the other half. Then the dog would dig into the ground. Be creative!
