I need a 2D character designed for a browser game. The character will be a human man with a sword. He is from a time and place where they don't have a lot of money and resources so he should not look too fancy. He needs to be in an attack stance and the view can be a a front on view. So when you look at the picture, the character will be facing directly at the viewer.

He will need a transparent background so I can place him on any designs I need.

Im almost done with my first version, Im trying something different and not very cliche, but cool nonetheless :)
I have a request though... I'd be really inspired and with a crystalized idea, if I knew the backstory of the game, the plot and the setting.

This picture is just reference for sword and stance type. Your guy and style can be your own of course. Although I do like the leather since it appears cheaper.

I like this style of sword, so one handed. Then I guess the shield in the other hand may be better than just having a bare hand.
