Contest Brief

I'm looking for a half page advertisement to be used in a local magazine (non-glossy, more like newsprint).

I'm a hypnotherapist, and am seeking new clients.

So that you can be familiar with my "style" I have attached some of my recent ads, banner stands, and a flyer, and would suggest you look at my website and blog to get a feel for my vibe (https://Integrative-Hypnotherapy.com and https://Integrative-Hypnotherapy.com/category/blog).

I'm looking for this new ad to be much more professional than what I can do, but still be recognizably from the same company (my company).

There is an Inkscape .svg attached which contains pieces and parts from which you can pull. Those pieces and parts are to the bottom left of the full-page canvas in the file.

The specs and the sizes for the Ad are also found in the attachments. You can choose any of the 3 options for half-page ad (4.75x7, 3.5x9.75, or 7.5x4.5 - all sizes are width x height measured in inches with no bleed).

The fonts that are used in my logo (and in my ads so far) are Gotham, Gotham Book, and Myriad Pro Regular. You can use additional fonts according to your design aesthetic. The best case scenario is that the font is somehow embedded, so if I want to change a word here or there I can edit it if I need to, or that I can get a copy of the font for free or a reasonable cost.

I will prefer that the file be compatible with Inkscape, so that I can make edits, as I'm not a professional designer and don't have access to the Adobe suite.

There is definite potential to have additional work done in the future (in various sizes, with various themes/holidays, etc.), but this is not guaranteed, even if you are selected.

Check out the September 2015 .png advertisement (which is attached above). The starkness of the punch that the brown (two colors of brown) force the eye to the clouds in the center of the image. My style is quite a bit like that. I want it to have real visual impact - direct, punch, a little bit visceral, put still personal and authentic. My style isn't overly complicated or busy. Keep that in mind. ... Also, I may want to have a testimonial quote or a quote from me as well as a headshot somewhere if it's possible to allow for that.
