Contest Brief
I'm looking for a logo for my business "Shine on 3D".
The sub-heading is open for discussion as part of the branding exploration.
Ie:
Shine on 3D
Shine on 3D visualisation
Shine on 3D visualisation services
Shine on 3D imagery
Shine on 3D imagery consultant
Shine on 3D consultancy
My website is http://www.shineon3d.com where you can see a variety of my work over the last 15 years.
I've also got a basic Facebook page set up: https://www.facebook.com/ShineOn3D
I tend to work for designers to help them realise their ideas. Also to help them elaborate, refine and sell their design through artistic license. The term "polishing a turd" has been used in reference to what I do which is where the name comes from. I "put the shine, on your design".
It's a visualisation service as well as consultancy where I can offer advice to clients as to how they might want to best present their work.
I am also open to alternate name suggestions too.
Some of my contemporaries include MIR, The Boundary, Doug and Wolf, Flood Slicer, Squint Opera, Bertrand Benoit (BBB3 viz), State of Art Academy.
I'm looking for a brand identity which could be text only or icon and text. Ideally I'd love a glyph like logo which could be used as a simple stamp to literally "brand" on to my artwork.
Colour and Black and White options will be considered.
Please let me know what further information I can provide via email.
I have attached the logos of some of my contemporaries.
- "4D" I love how this incorporates two glyphs in to 1. I'm a fan of cleverly connected letterforms to create a new form.
- "Afterglow". I like how the text sits within a form, this form is a little too industrial, construction looking. I'm aiming at an architectural/designer clientele rather than construction/builder.
- "Doug & Wolf". I find this logo hideous and messy. I really dislike the colours and the shapes which it accidentally creates.
- "Mazer Visual". I love the simplicity of this. I really like the repetition and highlight of the A and V. I like the bold yet condensed typeface, and also the use of two colours.
- "MIR" Simple type only. By using a typeface they can write the logo anywhere without having specific artwork. This logo is generated on the fly on their website.
- "squint/opera" interesting use of lower case and playful font. It is childish whilst corporate. The "/" is also used as an identity and separator throughout their website. I like the idea of one element being able to be used independently of the brand. Like a short signature.
