I am an Australian barrister who practices mainly in intellectual property law. I need a logo for my blog. It's primarily about trade marks law in Australia but also covers intellectual property law more generally. The blog is called North Pole Bananas (which is a reference to a trade marks case). You can have a look at it here: www.northpolebananas.com

The topic is pretty dry but I want the logo to be fun & quirky while remaining fairly professional. I DO NOT want it to look like something you would find on a law firm's blog. The blog will be mainly read by intellectual property lawyers - (that's not property lawyers who are intellectual but lawyers who deal with intellectual property - right?)

The blog is currently on one of the generic (and free) Wordpress themes - and I am open to changing that.

The logo needs to be able to be used on the blog but also capable of being used in other media as well including, possibly, business cards, stationery, power point presentations etc. It might also be used in other web contexts - so it will need to be provided in a format that is compatible with those different formats. It needs to include the words North Pole Bananas and a logo.

Hi - thanks everyone for your entries - there are lots of very talented designers out there! The ones I like best at this stage are fairly simple/sleek North Pole or bananas (or both)-oriented logos with the words in a relatively plain font. There are some very good ones that include lots of references to the North Pole and/or bananas but several of these are too busy or crazy. Just a few days left. Good luck!!

Hi everyone - thanks for all your entries - there are some good ones there. A couple of general comments: (1) I will not choose one that has a totally generic device (like a circle or a triangle) - it has to have some reference to the North Pole and/or bananas and/or trade marks. (2) Please don't include "Trade Marks Law etc by Ben Gardiner" (3) I like the inclusion (as some have done) of bananas - especially when mixed up with North Pole symbols - maybe someone could try an igloo or an inuit face? Humanised bananas are good as long as they're not too crazy / cheap looking (4) On the whole, I think that most of the entries are either too professional looking (and therefore a bit boring) or too crazy - it's a tricky line to walk I know but please keep the entries coming - some are great!! (5) Oh, and I almost forgot, please no more depictions of poles - barbers' or otherwise - cheers
