Contest Brief

We are looking for a logo that is clean and a little playful to start branding our company / online presence.

Officially, our name is "Baked Ramen" - with the emphasis or concept centering around taking a couple different words (typically dissimilar) and folding them together. This is the heart of culinary practices.

As such, the logo should convey the concept of Ramen and could at the same time push this further to include the oven, potentially a chef's hat -- Whatever the creative metaphor that you come up with; the idea is to CLEARLY convey the idea that you have reached a Foodie Blogging Site which is run by a male and should appeal to men and women alike.

The logo should have a squared and horizontal representation and should easily be updated for color, as well as black and white.

Please note, we require this to be done in Illustrator, as we have a number of "high resolution" needs as well.

Otherwise, think Baking, Cooking, Chef's and all discipline of culinary. We like the chalkboard effect and may drop this logo onto a slate background. However this is yet to be determined.

So this is just a general message for everyone whom has submitted. Most of the submissions thus far have been a little off point in terms of what we like. The idea is to keep this logo contemporary, not using any cursive or feminine type faces. I would also strongly suggest not using the chef hat metaphor (as it doesn't really achieve the idea of Ramen by itself). When placed with a bowl of noodles it feels very disconnected. It's hard to capture the notion of BAKED, but for the most part, the logos falling short aren't even close. Also, please don't use stock imagery... I have found a number of shutterstock or related vectors and we aren't looking for something that we could have put together ourselves. Hopefully everyone will read this and there's no need to submit the same entry multiple times but with different treatments, we get the idea. Just a nice flat logo.
