Contest Brief
We are a web design business operating in Ontario, Canada. We focus on small to mid-sized businesses, offering full service, personalized web design services. We are set to start in the next week or two and need a logo for our website, business cards, and advertisements.
Creativity in designing the logo is encouraged. Our one criteria is that our name (Concepts Web Design) must be included in the logo. Also, we would like the word "Concepts" to be emphasized (through large lettering, all caps, coloring, etc) and downplay of the words "Web Design" (like in the veritec logo over at http://www.downgraf.com/inspiration/logo-design-inspiration-2014-trends-2014/ (4/5 of the way down the page)).
While we want designers to be creative, an idea that we had that you may want to explore in your designs is:
An icon (can be some sort of animal or other design) next to our name: "Concepts Web Design". We like contoured looks for icons. Example of this include: thefoxwp.com (logo at top left, including name), https://www.logolounge.com/article.asp#.VYSppuRVK1G the "Open Chat" lion (under the header "Contours"), "assembly" logo (under the header "Coded"), and "freeview" logo (under the header "Chroma Coaster").
Other designs we like:
http://www.downgraf.com/inspiration/logo-design-inspiration-2014-trends-2014/ (especially the campwire, veritec, starry night, and postbord logos).
Overall, we want a design that looks good. We want to restate that the word "Concepts" should be much more noticeable and upfront than "Web Design" (like in the veritec logo over at http://www.downgraf.com/inspiration/logo-design-inspiration-2014-trends-2014/ (4/5 of the way down the page)). Please feel free to use your imagination and creativity as you design. A winner will be chose based on the aesthetics and relatability of the design.
*UPDATE*: We will need a logo to be in a light and dark version. That is, one version for black background, and one for white backgrounds. If you have already submitted ideas, don't worry, they will still be considered.
