Name: Edelson Photography

I'm launching a new logo and website related to my photography business and need a logo & thumbnail that captures the professionalism of what I do, and the passion and excitement of being on the cutting edge of photojournalism. My photography revolves around covering News (crashes, fires, politics, international events, anything that you can imagine on the front page of a newspaper), corporate events (CEOs speaking to a large audience, conventions and tradeshows), and Executive portraits (studio-lighting setups on-location for ceos, and high-end corporate exectives).

The tone that should be obtained from this logo should convey an edgy professionalism. The photographer represented in this logo will put himself in harms way to get the perfect shot. He will stand on top of a wall, lay in the dirt, and push creative boundaries to go above and beyond the expectation to get the perfect shot.

Concept is important in this mock-up. Here is a list of keywords to help get you thinking in the right direction. Do not limit yourself to just these keywords for art direction:

Newspaper, journalism, corporate, event, camera, nikon, lens, digital, news, professional, creative, eye, vision, moment, clean, conceptual, simple, invokes emotion with work, powerful, respected.

The winner will then get first pick at more design work for us. We would also like you to give us design feedback on our new website. Great potential and work down the road! Please use a white or or white vignette background.

Here are some logo styles that I liked. No need to mimic exactly, but you can see what styles jumped out to me.

It'd be cool to see something like this, maybe in the form of a stamp, slightly slanted like that of a USDA BEEF stamp like this one: http://altruhelp.files.wordpress.com/2012/08/organicstamp.jpg. I like how part of it is worn like the ink didn't make it. Maybe a little splatter of ink off to the side, something like that.
