Contest Brief
Five Security is an independent information security consulting business.
We provide high-end consulting services, compliance audits, expert technical testing and security education.
We help our customers to protect their data and their information systems but also things such as credit card transactions.
We are making sense of complex information security issues by applying the brightest talents to the challenges of our customers.
Five Security consultants are senior professionals with the highest available security certifications...
Keywords: Cooperation, long-term relationships, protecting businesses, securing the future...
We want to appear as highly professional and trustworthy and we want to appeal to organisations such as banks and financial institutions but also local governments, big merchants and payment service providers.
Applications for the logo include technical reports, our website, brochures, business cards, etc...
UPDATE: The logo must show both words 'Five' and 'Security' and we do not intend to use a tag line.
UPDATE:
The logo should feel balanced, it is ok to put some emphasis on the word 'Five' as long as no element of the logo is overly disproportioned compared to the other elements.
The idea of trust and security is usually better represented with a blue scheme of colours but this is not a strict requirement.
It should be simple and very professional. It should convey the idea that we are consultants, advisors, we provide recommendations, we operate almost everywhere in the world and in the cyber-world.
Also, it is intended to be used in headers of reports etc. which means that a horizontal logo would probably be better than a vertical one, but again this is not a strict requirement.

An idea that has not been explored is using concepts around measuring security and measuring progress, producing graphs, metrics and dashboards... as we are consultants evaluating the security in place at organisations like banks and helping them to increase the security of their systems. We produce detailed reports that explain how to protect better and then we come back and control them again to verify progress. I hope this helps!

I will soon be selecting a design with the following characteristics; the logo shape will be simple, original and balanced, it should be easily associated with the brand. There will be an emphasis either on 'Five' or the entire 'Five Security'. I will be using the logo on various support (business card holders, brochures, etc...) so it has to be compatible with one color positive and negative versions. Finally I tend to prefer those logos using bold and dark blue color on 'Five' (or simply black bold).

Last guidance... fonts favorite are in #391 , #90, #451 and #397 . Favorite logo shape ideas are in #193 (but hard to use everywhere), #448, #391 and #396 (only for the arrows surrounding it, gives the idea of continuous protection), #451 also looks good in one color version even if not very original shield shape.

Logo shape of entry #391 is original and simple without being too generic, I still think that entries #207 and #90 have the best font. #372 and #207 also have interesting shapes but perhaps a bit too generic and not so memorable.
