Design a Logo for Logo for Credit Union in the South Pacific

Contest Brief
We are a new Credit Union (financial institution/small bank) that is opening up in Vanuatu in the South Pacific. The Credit Union is called "Pacific Growth Credit Union" or "PGCU". We want to have a "fresh/vibrant" logo, whilst still communicating financial stability. We are thinking that perhaps just using "PGCU" (refer HSBC, ANZ banks).
Being in the Pacific we are thinking of colours in a dark blue or shades of blue, with black text. Perhaps a reverse in blacks and silver or blue for the logo on the debit card (attached 2 possibilities of a debit card background). I have attached a word document with some ideas I came up with. After agreeing on a logo, we will look towards a business card which can maybe be similar to the first logo in the PGCU document, with the full business name written underneath. However, still open to ideas. Perhaps the "PGCU" could go inside a rolling wave??
