Contest Brief

How would you like to design the new logo for a world-class martial artist who is opening a high-profile dojo in Edmonton? Paulo Azambuja is a world champion Brazilian Jiu Jutsu Martial Artist. He trained with the famous “Cyborg,” who is regarded worldwide as the master in BJJ. A google search will give you plenty of information and background on fights and matches.

Paulo is a Black Belt 3rd Dan, which is a very high level in BJJ. He is opening his own dojo to mentor and coach in Edmonton and surrounding areas, and is aiming to grow his brand across Canada. He’s well-connected with the international BJJ community and is still regarded as an expert in fighting circles.

Any design you create must reflect Paulo’s level of expertise and his prestige in the BJJ community. Following are more details to guide your design:

Colors:
The main colors should be red, black, and white.
Other colors can be incorporated, too.
Use a white background.

Design elements:
Integrate a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu 3rd Dan belt into the design.
Keep the logo square shaped.
Bonus points if you can incorporate two people in martial arts combat.

Requirements:
I will need multiple versions to use on different colored backgrounds. Please only submit the regular colored version. Other versions will only need to be provided by final winner.
I need a large version of the logo with the text “Azambuja BJJ” under the design.

Hello everyone, thanks for the designs so far.
A couple things to comment on:
-Please make sure that the design looks good at large and small sizes (social media profile pic size).
-Gradients look great online but are hard to print accurately.
