Contest Brief

Solar is beginning to tip ie, gaining mass acceptance in certain markets. The economics are telling: when discount to market gets to 10%, very few people will allow panels on their roof. At 20%, they begin to listen, but it's still a hard sell. At 25%, things really pick up. 33.3% is another milestone that consumers appreciate, but 50% seems to be the holy grail in Solar. This site focuses on delivering solar energy to consumers at a rate 50% less than they would pay to their utility via solar ppa and solar lending programs. At the end of the day, the aim of the site is to educate consumers as to the benefits of solar energy through discussion, information etc.

Ideas for this are wide open ie, blank slate. I would like to see an area that encourages response eg, asking the consumer at which savings rate they would choose solar.

  I do not have a full design brief per se. I have never used this website and I am somewhat unsure of how to move these forward. Some websites re v3electric.com, sierraclub.org, have the appropriate look. Ultimately, this site will be an information center for Solar energy that will enable homeowners to make the leap to solar through better tech info, access to pricing, economic discussion, green energy initiative info, etc.
