Design beach towels for Dubai

Contest Brief
We need a dozen or more designs of beach towels (aka sarongs or canga) with Dubai or UAE as motif. The designs should be submitted as vector graphics with two to six colors, dimensions 66" x 44". The designs may or may not include some of the following: Dubai skyline, palm and world-shaped islands, predominant buildings such as Burj Khalifa, Burj Al Arab, Emirates Towers, Atlantis Hotel, Jumeirah Beach Hotel, Jumeirah Mosque, sand dunes, blue skies and shinning sun, sea with waves and sandy beaches, desert night with crescent, palms, camels, horses, flamingos, tropical fishes and corals. It would be preferred if designs are based on islamic art (mosaics, arabesque, floral and geometric patterns), calligraphy and arabic script, arabic architecture (arches, windows, cupolas, malqafs (wind catcher), minarets). Traditional clothing (kandura, abaya, hijab), cars, planes, yachts, metro and road infrastructure may also be your inspiration. Find attached several examples of finished products.
We will pay USD120.- to the successful bidder per design. You can submit multiple designs.

#21 vw7007020vw: This entry is also a close response to our request. I like the flamingo and the belly dancer and the Sun reflected in the water surface, but the composition is probably too crowded - pls. consider removing one of the dancers and the "shuttering wave". Please also change the palette, we are searching for something more optimistic and cheerful. Some of the details are too small for screen printing. Generally DUBAI should be written on the design, I know we didn't mention it before, but tourists would probably prefer to have it written on the souvenir...

#24 vw7007020vw: It got our attention, but looking in more detail we noticed that Burj Al Arab is too technical compared to the free expression of the skies, somehow it doesn't match. The birds are too close to the palms, the same cloud is copied three times... Details of the palms and of the Sun probably could not be printed. I found gray, black, two cyan and white, total five colors. Can you try reducing it to three or four and changing black to some other color? Can you post text "JUMEIRAH BEACH DUBAI" in the bottom, over the sea?

#16 @ decorusads: This entry is a close response to our request. Our concern is that you have used some clipart that may be subject to copyright.Gradient fill we would prefer not to use in this printing technique. Can you resubmit with 6 colors limit? You should also consider rearranging the composition, such as bringing the beach and the skyline next to the sea surface and text on the sky, the ship is too dominant, can be even removed... I like the colors of UAE flag, but I don't understand the detail - what are these arcs?

@ Hamada982: I like the combination of arabic and latin text and also the "sun" (but the details are probably töo small for printing in this technique). The text should not have gradient fill. The cross is probably too dominant. The text and also the floral detail are overlapping with the cross, there is some diagonal line which I don't understand... But most of all, I don't think it is catchy enough to make a commercial success. Pls. consider using the text with some other, more "commercial" motifs already listed in the task

#7 @ rachelbreizes: It looks like a good start but it lacks some of the motifs that can be associated with Dubai. Keep in mind that you are expected to design a beach towel that tourists will want to buy as a souvenir from Dubai/UAE

@ EzzDesigner: I generally like the idea of calligraphy all over the towel, but it should be fitting the dimensions that we have indicated and it should have some general meaning. I am also concerned that this detail may have been cut from some other larger work. Please make sure that all the submissions are original and made purposely for this contest. We will require your statement confirming it.

One general comment - please look at the examples of finished products that we have posted. They are in two, three, maximum six colors, no raster graphics, just vectors.... The thing is that these towels will be screen-printed, for its low cost and durability. As the colors are printed in sequence there is always some offset between them, so you should keep in mind that if you wish to have, say blue next to yellow, it is very probable that you will get green line at their overlap... That is the reason that in some of the examples black is used as an outline as black would not mix (it is not mandatory). Some of the submissions that have been made are having dozens of colors or are having areas with gradient fill. Dithering can be done in this technique, but not to very good results, so we would rather not opt for it.

Good Evening,
seems like an interesting project, but just to specify - could you please tell if the designs need to hold together as a single concept and series, or each of the designs can be very different from others? In different words, is it just for retail sell in various shops and you are the manufacturer, or are the sarongs connected to a specific resort or hotel?
