Hello everybody,
We have a retail store based on Mykonos Island (Greece) which sells mostly beach/sea stuff. More specifically, it is merchandised: Havaianas, Crocs, panama hats, espadrilles, towels, diving and swimming equipment (Speedo, Arena), beach tote, tunics etc.

The store has a presence on the island for almost 70 years (est. in 1945) which we would like to be considered for the logo design. Also, the dominating colors of the island are blue and white so we would like any variations of those two colors to be incorporated on the logo. The logo should be simple and elegant. The store is called “Megas” which means big in Greek. Probably, a theme is needed which could be related to sea, water, sand, holidays, beaches. However, a balance with the history of this store should be considered.

Maybe beach signs like those http://goo.gl/BQ0WEn can give you some ideas of the colors, fonts that could be a good fit. So maybe the font could be (seem) also handwritten.
The logo would be used in packaging, website, business cards etc.
