Contest Brief

We currently trade as Sydney Classic Car Hire and we are changing out name to "Self-drive Vintage and Classic Car Hire" to promote our business model throughout Australia. We have some 40 cars listed that belong to private owners. Clients book through us, go to the owner's home to collect the car and return it at the end of the hire. Our cars are primarily from the 1960s, but we also have some from the Fifties and Seventies. We have four target markets:

Our primary market is the experience gift market mainly for males aged 40+ though the buyers are mainly women buying the gift for their Father, Husband, Brother, etc.
Our secondary market is wedding cars. As our cars are available self-drive, brides can have a family member or friend drive them, rather than a complete stranger. We are unique in this area.
The third market is car enthusiasts who hire the cars as an alternative to owning one themselves.
Our final market is providing cars for film and photo shoots.

We are looking for a vintage/retro look from the Fifties, Sixties and Seventies. The design we are looking for will be used in the following areas, in order of importance:

1. Webpage banner and overall look - we are having a new webpage developed. Almost half of our website hits come from smartphones and that is increasing, so the design needs to take that into account.
2. Web advertising. We list with a number of wedding directories, etc. We need vertical and horizontal banner designs.
2. DL sized flyers - we use these to put under windscreen wipers at car shows, etc. and to hand out.
3. A large banner 3000mm by 600mm that we use to string between posts when we display some of our cars.
4. The usual business card, letter head, etc.

We would prefer the text design for our company name to be an established font that we can use in other ways, rather than a freehand design that can only be used as an image. Though we are flexible in this area.

The business name is Self-Drive Vintage and Classic Car Hire. Looking for one or two designs that can be used for all items in the list with simple modification by us. Not sure whether to go for a vintage look or a modern look. Possibly a wild sixties look?? Just read my spec, read our website and see what inspires you!
