Contest Brief
Hey folks,
Thanks for checking out our contest. We are a family farm located in the heart of Virginia (USA) and we just finished naming the farm. The vibe of the farm is a testament to the 1930's 40's and 50's classic American farm. What we need now is a great Logo and Branding for our business. What we are looking for is something timeless and beautiful. We also love turn of the century font's and anything that just takes you back to a simpler time where faith, family and country pride were important in peoples lives.
To get some inspiration Google "Turn of the century logos and fonts" then click on images and scroll through the first page of two and you will see the kind of style we are going for. Something elegant yet at the same time having a very traditional "Common Man" feel to it. We also love Roots, Soil, we have two very ancient Oak Trees right in front of our farm house. Also the house it self, classic white two story farm house. These are just some ideas, it doesn't have to be any of them. Good luck everyone, let us know if we can make things more clear.

We are looking for one of two kinds of picture. When you submit a basic font of the name wihtout a photo that's fine. But if you put some kind of photo use one of these two examples. 1. A basic drawing of our house with the two big oak trees. One on each side of the house. They are both in the front yard. One on each side. We have a white fence going across the front yard. Or 2. If you don't do the house the logo should be a unique photo of a cow, sheep, chicken and pig. Be memorable and unique not simple and forgetable.

Please make sure you google "Turn of the century fonts and logos". At the top of the search click on "images" this will narrow things down and give a great guide line on some fonts and use of old scrolling and vintage feel we are going for. Once we narrow down the right kind of font and vintage look, maybe then we can add in a farm scene like the house, a barn, animals etc. Or we may just keep just the farm name with some scrolling. Either way that search is a good starting point and a reference for ideas.

Many times I will like a logo but there is just something unknown about it that I can't explain why it's not "The One". It's often a great logo and would be perfect for someone else, but not for us. It's almost as if I have an idea of what I'm looking for but won't know it until I see it, or something very similar. Then I will know, so if I reject one don't loose hope. Keep trying.

Please add somewhere in your entries the year we were established. We like this kind of format. (Est. 2014). I know in this day and age it's hard to design a logo without it seeming like it was made with todays technology, but the feeling we are looking for it when you see it you may think it was created in the early 1900's to 1940's. Remember that when you submit your design please. Also we may include our town "Gladys VA" but not sure. Keep that in mind.
