To commemorate the 20-year anniversary of award-winning South African architectural firm SOUND SPACE DESIGN, we have launched an illustration contest to procure a poster design that best captures the forward-looking spirit of the firm through the illustration of some of its key projects during the last two decades. [20 projects as per the photos attached to this brief.]
1 x A0 illustrated poster (portrait, 33.1"× 46.8"), of 20 architectural projects over the last 20 years designed by SOUND SPACE DESIGN architects.
Ideally the buildings should be hand-illustrated in simple sketch form, based (more or less) on the photography supplied, with final output as silk-screen poster or 1~4 colour process via PDF.
All styles of illustration will be considered, but there should be a harmony of style throughout the poster. The illustrations do not have to be the same size, or occupy the same amount of paper space, and they can bleed into one another. The use of photography is not allowed.
The project numbers and dates depict the sequence in which the images may appear on the poster, although it is not mandatory to sequence them, and they should NOT be numbered or dated. The titles of the projects similarly DO NOT need to be on the poster. There may be a legend or numbering system to identify the projects, but it needs to be flexible. ONLY either of the two logostyles attached in the attached files may be used for the name or logo SOUND SPACE DESIGN.
The images supplied via [url removed, login to view] are copyright to SOUNDSPACEDESIGN cc (South Africa) and are supplied for the purposes of this illustration/design contest only.
Copyright in the winning entry will be owned by SOUNDSPACEDESIGN who reserve the right to reproduce the material in any form.
