     If they use the work which is "free for commercial use" they will not have any problem. If they just stole an image from somewhere, then it will cause big problems.
     And about freelancer.com in F.A.Q. it says:
     " - Can I use stock images or clipart?
     Designers, please only use images for which you have copyright, to ensure your entry is not rejected! "
     
     So if its commercial free, you actually can use it.
