Claypa’s Werks
Hi! I am Clay Smith, aka Claypa. I used to have a normal name… Clay. However, when my kids had their kids, they didn’t like the name, “Grandpa.” So, they made up a new one… Claypa. It is very much like me, unique!
My story… my wife and I have been living and working overseas (Morocco, Saudi, Pakistan, and Albania) for the better part of the last ten years. We plan on retiring in 3 months. To further that goal, we recently purchased a 5.5-acre piece of property in central Florida and plan on turning it into a working homestead. We want to take our friends and family along for that ride. That means we will be doing a vlog and YouTube stuff. Additionally, we plan on do A LOT of gardening, crazy amounts of woodworking, and cooking our butts off! I fancy we will also get an Etsy account and peddle our crafts online and at the local weekend market. However, after a little research, it appears that “branding” is an actual thing. We have not been in the U.S. in quite some time and haven’t really kept up with the social media thing. LOL! It seems that everyone wants to get noticed and everyone has a “brand” thing. It also seems that people LOVE logos. People want to be able to identify you by a simple piece of art. That’s all well and good… but neither of us can draw to save our lives! This is where you people come in. I need a logo for Claypa’s Werks. (My wife will need one for herself soon.) When thinking about a logo, I tried to come up with the message I wanted to send to the viewers, so I came up with this thought… Claypa’s Werks is about family, warmth, southern (U.S.) hospitality, craftsmanship, growing things, crafting quality wood projects, and caring. POSSIBLE slogan: Claypa believes in “Quality, pride, craftsmanship, and caring.” Armed with that knowledge, it is now up to you to take those words and reshape them into a single logo. There are some amazingly talented artists out there… I hope to find one! ? We will be looking to start a friendship with whomever it is we choose, as we hope to continue to need the services of a GREAT artist! Good luck!!!
