Ringkasan Peraduan
Calling all visual and graphic designers! Here’s your chance to design new logos for Narrative in the Schools and our Narrative “Tell Me a Story” High School Writing Contest. Narrative is a leading non-profit digital publisher of fiction, poetry, non-fiction and art. These logos will be for Narrative’s keystone educational programming that provides free reading and writing resources for students and educators around the globe, particularly in under-resourced communities. Our audience for Narrative in the Schools is teachers and students from middle school through college, who rely on our free and expansive digital library of literature, video tutorials, reading lists, and contests to foster a love for reading and writing. Learn more at www.NarrativeMagazine.com.
Over 100,000 students across 19 countries engage with our schools resources each year, so your designs must speak across borders. New York Times- bestselling author and Narrative co-founder Carol Edgarian, Narrative artistic director John Miller, and programming and social media manager Sophie Taylor, will evaluate entries for dynamic content that speaks to our programs and mission.
The design contest consists of three parts:
1. A re-imagined vision of our Narrative in the Schools logo. We are looking more something clean, bold, and indicative of our dedication to reading, writing, and literary education. Note that we are a digital-only publication, with a vast online library of fiction, poetry and art, so imagery should reflect that. The sky is truly the limit and we want you to have full creative range to take risks, but we do require that your Narrative in the Schools logo in some manner incorporates the “N” of our Narrative logo (see attached), which is in Chronicle Display.
2. Creation of a second, complementary logo for our Narrative “Tell Me a Story” High School Writing Contest—a subsidiary resource within the Narrative in the Schools program umbrella. The contest is open to high school students around the world, offering blossoming writers the opportunity to be mentored by an established writer and published in Narrative alongside the greats. This second logo should work in conversation with your design for the Narrative in the Schools branding, as it’s a specific resource offered within our larger Narrative in the Schools program.
3. Using the logo you create, please design a “Tell Me a Story” High School Contest poster (8.5in x 11in). This poster will be displayed in hallways and classrooms in schools around the world to promote the writing contest among high school students. An example of last year’s poster is attached. Your poster must include the following copy and information (keep in mind that contest details are updated annually, so your poster design must be amenable to info updated, like date & prompt changes):
a. Your “Tell Me a Story” High School Contest logo
b. Calling all poets 14-18!
c. Write a poem that conjures your version of ESCAPE
d. Contest opens January 5, 2022
e. Submission deadline February 4, 2022 at 5pm Pacific Standard Time
f. Winners receive $1,000 in prizes and publication in Narrative!
g. Submission is FREE
Guidelines:
-Please submit all three components (2 logos and the poster) as both PNG and editable file type (SVG, .psd, or .ai)
-Attached are Narrative brand assets for you to use in your design process
-This contest has a rolling deadline
Designers who submit logo entries have the following opportunities:
