NASA Challenge: Develop 3D Models for Robonaut Simulation-Large Trigger Flashlight

  • Status: Closed
  • Hadiah: $50
  • Penyertaan diterima: 19
  • Pemenang: EduardoCordero

Keterangan Peraduan

We (NASA) need to develop a number of high resolution 3D models to be used for Robonaut simulations. These 3D models are to be developed based on photographs of real items (see attached files). These simulated objects would be used for various grasp and manipulator testing.

This particular challenge is to build a 3D model of a large trigger flashlight. This is not a specific tool used by Astronauts, but is a tool that can be used by R2 in both low visibility environments and to assist humans during tasks.

There is a scale in the attached imagery is in inches. All final model submissions must be delivered in on of the following formats: .prt (Solidworks, ProE); .step or .stp; .iges; .stl; .dae. NOTE: Freelancer submissions will need to be image file views of your model. If you win the contest, you will then send/transfer the model files to NASA via email, dropbox, etc.

All entries will be judged on the accuracy, quality, and fidelity (detail) of the model produced. Note that where highly similar top submissions are produced, the submission entered first will win.

Thank you to all of the Freelancers who participated in this challenge. You all demonstrated some amazing work. In the judging, we had to go with our original criteria in the brief ("where highly similar top submissions are produced, the submission entered first will win.") Great job EduardoCordero! Congratulations!

So the contest was for just the 3D model in the pictures, but you should be aware that this one is no longer open for submission. However, check out https://www.freelancer.com/contest/challenges/nasa for the full list of challenges. The last half of the list is still active. Thanks.

As long as you can export to one of the following formats: .prt (Solidworks, ProE); .step or .stp; .iges; .stl; .dae. The submissions will actually be images of views of your model. If you win, then you will need to provide the model in one of these formats as a final deliverable.

Do you order the entries according to how much you like them? I mean is the first entry the temporary winner?

Good question! Per the brief: "All entries will be judged on the accuracy, quality, and fidelity (detail) of the model produced. Note that where highly similar top submissions are produced, the submission entered first will win." As entries come in, we are rating them to give the members an idea of how their submissions stack up relative to each other, but the final determination of the winner will be determined after the contest closes.
