Contest Brief

Hi, this is Alan and I am looking into a couple of projects for logo design, but I'm very unfamiliar with the territory.

My first project, I hope, is quite simple and I hope the contest is priced appropriately. I would like to have a logo that utilizes my name: Alan Clack. I would strongly prefer to have a futuristic/modern logo with some set of brushed nickel-like texture as part of the letters, with a 3d-like effect. I'm big into maps and some inclusion of a compass or a globe or map network (or any other map related gear) that does more than just sit next to text would be perfect.

I would ideally need a logo with a transparent background. The logo will go on this site: www.alan-techie.com and replace the eyesore in the top left, so you have an idea of my concept. I have attached a snapshot of the ideal site appearance for anyone that has trouble loading it, or has browser issues. Wishlist:
- Name text: Alan Clack
- Lighter color of text to go with the dark webpage.
- futuristic (***EDIT: sharp and straight seems to be my preference).
- inclusion of map, globe, map network, etc.
- a 3d-like effect on the text and graphic portion would be desirable.

***EDIT: I apologize for the inconvenience. I should have specified I would prefer a logo that had either ONLY my initials: (A C) or ONLY my name: (Alan Clack)

I would greatly appreciate any submissions. Only the ideas behind the wishlist are required, I hope to see creative designs (that I severely lack) that will look great on the page. Thank you.

These are looking great everyone! I still have a few Freelancers that have planned to submit entries in queue, so I am going to wait till the end of today (for me) to see if any of the current designs would like to try and update as well as give those few Freelancers a chance to submit their designs. Thank you for the submissions (are the edits) so far guys! I was a bit worried about the feedback I would get posting something like this, but the logos I see so far are amazing.

I'm not familiar with Freelancer etiquette, so as of now I have been rejected submissions from same designers that are weaker than their strongest submission. I apologize if it is confusing. They are all great works, you guys just have something better!
