  I would not mind at all spending the few minutes to make your photo and your subject look the better. But please allow me to make a short comment please:
  The photo provided is not the best that one can find... As such: what we see here already looks altered/artificial.
  
  I am pretty much an expert on fabricating photorealism. And an inital key is to have the elements of it look as casual as possible.
  Some lighting conditions (Be they actual world lights) seem fake regardless... Some sensors detect low lighting conditions imagery and interpret the dark parts/grainy bits and (be a real world photo as it may) again: Look fake.
  The entries contestants entered are a sample of what a lot of your entries are going to end up looking like: "massively filtered".
  
  Unless you are willing to have them appear such of course.
