Contest Brief

Hello freelancer!

We are looking for a simple, powerful and easy to navigate website for our badass UAV business.

RUSC designs and manufactures hard use unmanned vehicles for civilian, LEO and military users.

The main focus of our business is remote sensing - collecting highly accurate spatial data from various sensors mounted to UAVs.

We provide our clients with access to extreme accuracy and precision, in some cases down to millimeters. So we definitely want a survey/precision/accuracy thing happening.

Our website needs to speak to our customers - no bullshit professionals that know what they want, and they want it delivered quickly and succinctly.

Our colour palette is simple, mostly black and grey cause that's what our UAVs are. Tactical black everywhere you look.

Text needs to be clear and easy to read.

Our preference for layout and navigation is the new style of top menu and scroll down. Here are examples of websites with the layout we are after:

Our needs are similar:

Landing page will feature our main airframe and some splash text about hard use, evolving, tools for professionals etc.

Nav tabs should be along the the lines of 'Home' 'Airframes' 'Blog' 'Sign Up' 'About' 'Contact'

If we see something we like we will hire the contest winner to complete the website, however, an NDA will be required to work with our product imagery etc. Some of our shit is classified, by us. ;)

There will also be ongoing work as we are constantly expanding and updating our products - so we are looking for a long term thing instead of a one night thing.

Awesome Contest, Although I have a few questions:

1. Do you have 3D imagery for your product(s), I would like to showcase it/them on homepage like the inspiration sites you provided?
2. Do you have text content that you would like to have on the site? Or you want us to add dummy text so you can replace it later?
3. Can I design a PSD first and if you like the design, I can go ahead and develop it?
4. Can you please guarantee this contest? I can assure you that you won't be disappointed by my submissions.
5. Can you please rate all the entries that are being submitted so I/we know the status of competition?

  1/2 - contest is going to go to project under NDA, can't give out our stuff just yet
  3 - yes, that's the idea of the contest. Just mockups so we can get a feel for your style
  4 - no, we stopped guaranteeing work over about $200, sometimes we just don't go crazy for any of the entries
  5 - done and done. I'm out flying UAVs a lot right now so checking back every couple days

Dear Sir or Madam,

I have a couple of questions:
1. Since you are trying to sell your UAV's is there some kind of shopping or minor ordering functionality intended?
2. Are you looking for something with a responsive capability in mind or designed so from the get go?
3. Do you have any preferred Framework/CMS or is that up to the contractor?

Something of a thought of myself: Since spatial data is your speciality wouldn't a showroom with your various models and some samples of 3d spatial data a cool thing?
