To design a logo for an Italian Bed and Breakfast

Contest Brief
The logo will be formed by the name “La Ferrara” and a simple pictogram
Colors have to be strong and not too light, no gradients, shadows or other effects ...
Logo's lettering has to be clear and readable, even if printed in a single color or in black and white.
La Ferrara is a cosy and vintage Bed and Breakfast situated in the heart of Italy's countryside.
So if you want you can insert a small/simple graphic, as a pictogram of the ancient monastery Abbazia delle Ferrara (from witch this bed and breakfast brings the name), or from the religious figures from the amazing frescoes.
In attachment You can find a photo of the ancient building and 2 different frescoes: you can choose, customize and use one of this subjects in the logo.
The target audience is Italian and European. These tourists are usually looking for food-arts-traditions-nature, and most of them loves trekking.
IMPORTANT:
Under the logo, the claim: “agriturismo" must be legible, and possibly integrated or harmonized.

A colorful logo represents diversity (en few words and according to most of the color theories that you are talking about), but like I said before, they are hard to remember (talking about colors), which is completely independent from brand positioning and world wide fame, to be clear.

One last comment, i don´t want to be tedious either, but I don´t believe in "online articles" since I spent 5 years at Universidad de Guadalajara basing my studies in printed books, so if you want to have a conversation based on online articles, I would have to decline the offer.
