Contest Brief

I would like some drawings of tree roots, with a feeling of depth to them, with a glimpse of things between the roots, but nothing scary, but not childish either. Just eyes or perhaps partial face of a rabbit, mole or badger. The drawings have to fit on the 7 dimensioned templates as per the attachment.

I have a shop called Down To the Wood. The windows have Tree vinyl stickers on them and the woodwork has been painted green. Below the windows is flaking black plaster work. I am going to have printed signs made up to cover these areas. Further views of the shop can be seen here:

Template A goes up the side and needs roots at the bottom turning into a trunk as it goes up.

E and F shouldn't be too dark, and should encourage young children to look in as if you are seeing behind the roots on the outside of the building.

The dimensions are in millimeters and the graphics should be correctly sized to go straight to a printers.

    Hi.
It is going to be full colour printed onto a metal sign, that will be shaped to fit and attached to the wall. So i doesn't have to be vector, but if it's not the file size has to be big enough that it can be printed at the sizes given without it pixilating.

Oh I see. My computer can"t hold that giant size. :( What is the minimum size and dpi that looks good in that size printing?

I don't know, I'm not a digital artist. If in doubt, it would be safer to go with vector drawings.

If I get it right, the graphic will be printed and then sticked on the windowframe, so it has to be a vector graohic.? Or we have to draw a design, and then it will be painted on the frame?

I've run a few contests before, and been asked for feedback, this I've given and the artist then updated from my feedback. When the artist didn't win, they felt I was leading them on. I will give feedback, especially if you ask for it, but this does not mean I will pick your design.
If you ask me any questions I will answer them as honestly as I can.

I was thinking brown for the roots but with a 3-d effect, with a murky green to black background. but I am happy to be surprised.
    But I don't want a 'Disney' picture

Do you have in mind any particular color for the roots? like black or brown etc.
