This contest is for the basic design concept - not a fully functioning site.
Gaybar will be a social networking site (not a dating site) aimed at the Gay/Lesbian/Bi/Trans community, enabling people to communicate with each other, organise events, exchange news and information.
I need a classy web design that clearly targets the intended audience, yet maintains a subtlety and abstractness so that it cannot be interpreted as crude or offensive.
To win this contest you need to show me at least three pages:
1. A generic template page that shows your design concept/theme without other content
2. The welcome page - a page that will entice potential members to become actual members.
3. The member profile page - a page that showcases the member, their interests, connections etc.
Obviously if you develop a more mature solution that looks and feels great, I'll be impressed.
I want something unique. Designers, this is an opportunity for you to really show me what you've got.

  No worries. I'm going to put this project on hold for a while and focus on a couple of others - I was hoping by using a non-prescriptive brief I would get some novel submissions, which would invigorate me to push this forward, but it hasn't happened that way. Yours was the one of only two entries that wasn't a straight up template with a photo.

  I find that sealing contests increases the amount of feedback I need to give - as the feedback to many submissions will be similar. I'd rather everyone see what I have eliminated, and what I haven't, so that designers can target their submissions.
