Contest Brief

I am looking for ideas to improve the look (not a redesign) and make more modern but utilize the space better and not look so busy on the top.

CHANGE THE HOME PAGE ONLY - www.cityfusion.ca

MAIN CONCERNS
1) The top part looks very busy
2) There is that wasted space on the top
3) The location does not stand out enough. People should know what city is being shown instantly
4) The website itself looks dated and not up to date with the times
5) Make it look professional and up to date
6) NO REDESIGN - just make it look more modern and professional and easy on the eyes
7) Less boxy would be key

TOP
- Have the banner ad as it is now. want it to be alone with nothing beside it.
- Below the ad. can put as one in a row or bar.
- Remove the links on the top: Search Pad and Venues.
- The following on the one line
1) Logo - dont need the icon
2) Post Event
3) Location
4) Search Bar
5) Log in Stuff

FEATURED EVENTS
- keep all six of them. Can change their look if you choose.

LEFT HAND SIDE
- insert venues link on the side left. it will need a drop down to show the categories (see venues to see what i mean by categories)
- can change the look to be more modern

MIDDLE PART - VENUES
- Check out venues link: Could have them look like that. Make more modern. Open to making look better
- We may have them scroll like Facebook currently does for their middle part.
- but open to your interpretations on what would look more professional.

ADS ON THE RIGHT
- Keep them as they are now

NEED TO KEEP
1) the banner on the top - it makes money
2) The ads on the side right. Those need to stay the same
3) No Redesign. Just make look more modern

One Thing: We will be removing the "Search Pad" from the website. So will not need it on the bar for the top. Possbibly may need for the side but will either be removed entirely or just put on the side left bar

Please keep in mind we will be making the site mobile friendly soon. So not sure if that will affect your design you create. Just putting that out there.

Hello there, I am working on the mockup. Your .psd file is really heavy and laden with features, but if possible, can you post only your logo as a good quality file? .psd would also do. Thank you.
