I need to lift a 35 year old doublewide mobile home about 2 feet. Home is 28' x 68'. Each side has 2 10" I-beams, 3' in from each side. Estimated weight is 120,000 pounds. My thought is to weld 2-24 foot long S4x9.5 I-beams to the homes beams. I intend on using 2-30 ton hydraulic jacks on each S4 beam (total of 4 jacks), using a lift point 2 feet inside of each outside beam. I want to verify that the S4x9.5 I-beam is strong enough for the job. I have attached a drawing of the beam layout with approximate loads.
