I have a set of disks on an Adaptec 2810SA SATA RAID controller. Some of the metadata for the array has been damaged, but I am certain that the actual data on the disks is still intact. The disk on channel 5 suffered a temporary failure (loose power cable). The RAID5 sets named "Device0" and "Device 3" rebuilt, accepting the replaced disk 5 as a spare as soon as it was re-detected. However, the array named "Device1" went to 'rebuilding' for a few seconds and then became 'failed' even though only one disk had been missing.
