I have a device that runs on 12-48v DC, drawing up to 5A at 12v at bootup. This then settles down to 2-3A for normal operation. I need to run this device from my 12v vehicle battery – either via a cigarette lighter plug or direct battery connection. The device runs fine at 12v, but runs better at a higher voltage.
