I need a sturdy, impact-resistant plastic enclosure that will safely protect a circuit board and a battery pack. I already have rough dimensions and mounting points sketched out, but I’m counting on you to refine the design, create full CAD files, and supply a single 3D-printed sample so I can test fit and durability before moving to tooling. The enclosure does not have to be waterproof or vented at this stage—the priority is a clean, professional look and the ability to absorb knocks without cracking. Snap-fit or screw-together construction is acceptable as long as the board and battery remain secure and serviceable. Typical wall thickness targets are 1.8–2.4 mm, yet I’m open to recommendations based on the material you choose. I work comfortably with STEP, STL, SolidWorks, or Fusion 360 formats, so provide the native file along with export versions ready for printing. If you can include basic FEA or drop-test simulation screenshots to justify ribbing and support placement, that’s an appreciated bonus. Deliverables • Finished 3D design files (native + STEP/STL) • One physical 3D-printed sample shipped to me • Assembly instructions or brief notes on fasteners, tolerances, and material used I’m ready to review your ideas and move quickly once we agree on the final outline.

Sir: Your needs are very clear. I use PTC/Creo. I have been doing product design since 2008. I have designed many products and opened molds to complete production and assembly. I have rich design knowledge in mold molding and 3D printing design. Because in the early stage of product development, I need to confirm the prototype assembly through 3D printing before preparing to communicate with the mold processing factory for DFM. Confirm the injection gate position, uniform wall thickness, mold flow analysis, parting line position, etc. The plastic material needs to be determined during product development, because different materials cannot be injected with the same mold. I can respond to your instructions quickly and ensure that the task is completed within the specified time limit. Because all these tasks are completed by me alone. I hope to cooperate with you and serve you. I hope to get your response

I understand you need a robust, impact-resistant plastic enclosure prototype to protect a circuit board and battery pack, with a focus on a clean, professional look and knock absorption. I recently designed and prototyped a similar protective housing for sensitive instrumentation that successfully withstood rigorous drop testing, ensuring device integrity. My approach will involve taking your rough dimensions and mounting points to develop detailed CAD files using SolidWorks. I'll focus on creating a snap-fit or screw-together design optimized for impact resistance and ease of assembly. The final deliverable will be a single, high-resolution 3D-printed sample (using ABS or PETG for durability) ready for your fit and durability testing. What is the maximum acceptable tolerance for the internal mounting points to ensure a secure fit for your specific circuit board and battery pack? Ready to start as soon as you confirm scope.

Hi, I'd love to work on your project. I have experience designing durable electronic enclosures for 3D printing and manufacturing, with a strong focus on functionality, impact resistance, and clean, production-ready designs. I can refine your concept into a professional enclosure with secure PCB and battery mounting, optimized wall thickness, and practical assembly using snap-fits or screws. You'll receive the native CAD files, STEP/STL exports, a 3D-printed prototype, and assembly notes. If needed, I can also include basic FEA/drop-test analysis to validate the design. Best regards, Diksha L

Hi! Thanks for the detailed project description. I can definitely help with this. Based on your rough dimensions and mounting point sketches, I'll refine the enclosure design into a clean, professional, and manufacturable model. The enclosure will be designed with impact resistance in mind, ensuring the circuit board and battery pack are securely mounted while remaining easy to service. I'll recommend the most suitable wall thickness (typically within the 1.8–2.4 mm range) and construction method—whether snap-fit or screw-together—based on the chosen material and your durability requirements. The design will also consider future tooling to minimize changes when transitioning from the prototype to production. Please send over your sketches, dimensions, PCB and battery specifications, preferred material (if you have one), and any connector or button locations. Once I review them, I'll confirm the timeline and begin refining the design. I look forward to working with you!
