I am developing a basic simulation of a wet steam cycle and now need solid CAD models for visualization of a preliminary study design. The Rankine cycle, instead of using a turbine (expander), will have a screw expander in operation. The task consists purely of component design: a pair of compact heat exchangers, a screw expander, and a corresponding pump. The heat exchanger—boiler—will receive heat from a PCM (solid/liquid) material. All geometry will be created in SOLIDWORKS and kept fully parametric, so I can adjust dimensions as the thermodynamic model evolves. Since the simulation phase is already defined, these parts do not require complex CFD or FEA at this stage—the goal is to establish a clean and watertight 3D geometry with coherent feature trees and clearly named dimensions. I will handle advanced validation later, once the flow conditions are defined. Deliverables • Native SOLIDWORKS part files and, where relevant, lightweight assembly files• Neutral STEP files for cross-platform sharing • A short video demonstration (or annotated PDF) so I can see how you've set up key parameters and reference planesAcceptance Criteria • Each file opens without errors in SOLIDWORKS. • Key functional dimensions appear in a single editable design table or are easy to modify. • All four components are aligned with the basic envelope and connection dimensions I will provide after the award.
