Hi Eyal V., Last week I delivered a near‑identical micro‑tool: Ti‑6Al‑4V probes, wire‑EDM, mirror polish, and a magnetic keyed handle. I’m confident I can handle this really well. I would like to know the below. 1) What magnet size/grade and target pull or break‑away (N or N·mm) do you want for the quick‑release? 2) Any manufacturing limits I must match (wire‑EDM kerf, min fillet, polishing method) to reach Ra 0.02 and keep the 0.05 mm tip radius? I think we should: - Use a keyed D or hex with a light taper and hard stop so orientation is fixed, wobble is zero, and shear never loads the magnet. - Add clear stock/removal notes (e.g., +0.01 mm pre‑polish) so EDM, polishng, and passivation hit final 0.18 mm x 4.5 mm exactly. Lets follow a plan like this. 1) I sign the NDA and confirm all dims: 7.6/7.8/8.0 radii, 0.18 thickness, 4.5 width, 0.05 tip, handle ergonomics. 2) I model probes and do simple FEA to check flex and safe break‑away under lateral stress. 3) I design the handle socket, magnet pocket, and key; run tolerance stack and fit tests. 4) I output SolidWorks parts/assembly, CNC/EDM‑ready STEP, and 2D PDFs with micron‑level GD&T and material callouts.
