aper cord weave is the classic geometry trap: model every strand and the file explodes, simplify too far and the chair looks like it has a flat seat. The solution is keeping the weave as a texture/normal-map illusion rather than modeled geometry, a baked normal from a high-poly weave tile gives you the visual depth and shadow response at a fraction of the file size, with actual geometry only at the weave border where it meets the frame. My approach: build a small high-detail weave tile, bake it to a normal and displacement map, then apply it to a simplified seat and back surface so the weave reads correctly under lighting without the poly count. Frame and structure stay as clean geometry. Delivered in 3DM format as requested, optimized for presentation use. I work in Blender and Rhino and have experience optimizing furniture models for catalog and presentation where file size matters.
