We use Sharepoint for various things i.e. reporting of days worked etc. I have created a sharepoint custom list that allows the creation of items for working days declaration and it works the following way (simplified example):
Column: Start Date (choose date)
Column: End Date (choose date)
Column: Days worked -> End Dare minus Start date (calculated column)
Now the problem that we are having is that people usually don't work every day or sometimes even half days. With the current system, whenever a person has days worked with interruptions (i.e. Weekend), he must create separate items.
Example of how people need to create items in the current list:
Days worked from 01.04 - 15 04 (whereas 13.04 and 14.04 are free days).
Start date 01.04.2017
End date 12.04.2017
Start date 15.04.2017
End date 15.04.2017
The workload gets higher, the more interruptions/free days there are. Also, some people might work just for half a day, which is why again, an additional item needs to be created for EACH half day (so that the "days worked column" calculates 0.5 days)
Unfortunately, I do not know how to resolve this problem to create a list where people can sort of "tick" the days they worked in a calendar or something and I get the dates + the total number of days worked in a list. The aim is that the users don't need to create separate items anymore.
That said, I am looking for someone who can create a Sharepoint custom list where you can create items for the purpose of reporting days worked in a simple way.
Looking forward to some suggestions.

Hi, I think you are using the SharePoint on premise version, we can achieve this by custom web part/InfoPath. Let me know your availability to discuss more. Thanks Anand
