My PhD thesis is fully written but still sits in basic LaTeX markup. I now need it transformed into a polished, submission-ready document that covers every part of the manuscript—preliminaries, all main chapters, and the appendix—while meeting my university’s guidelines. There is no existing template to adapt, so the job starts with designing a custom class or set of style files. The main chapters will need the most detailed work: fine-tuning heading hierarchies, figure and table environments, equation numbering, and citation styling. Once that core is stable, the front matter (abstract, acknowledgements, dedication, lists of figures/tables, table of contents) and the back matter must compile automatically and reflect any later edits without manual fixes. I currently store references in a .bib file; whether you keep BibTeX or migrate me to biblatex is up to you as long as the final bibliography meets the style guide and updates cleanly. The finished project should compile without warnings on the latest TeX Live. Deliverables • Custom .cls/.sty files and a minimal demo document • My thesis source reorganised to use the new template • A PDF that passes the university’s formatting check • Short README explaining commands, packages, and how to add future chapters or appendices Acceptance is based on a clean compile, perfect alignment with margin, font, and pagination rules, and a contents list that updates correctly when I add or move material.
