Remote startup accountant for a long term

Description We're looking for talented accountants, with at least two years of relevant experience. We have roles available for both qualified and part qualified accountants. Freelancer will need to deliver You must be proficient in using online tools such as Xero, Quickbooks and ReceiptBank. We use a wide range of systems across our practice and with our clients, so you must be comfortable learning to use new technology quickly. ​If you prefer to work using your own systems and spreadsheets then this role is not suitable for you. Qualities needed to be successful Experience operating payroll, statutory accounts or UK taxes is extremely beneficial. ​We are open to applications from overseas, but excellent communication skills, including written and spoken English is essential. ​We are looking for candidates who are happiest working independently, and who take ownership of solving problems. The role is not suitable for someone who likes to receive detailed step by step coaching. You'll be required to. 1. Carry out regular transaction processing across a portfolio of clients, managing and and recording your work in our task management system. ​2. Oversee the month end close process, including identifying and posting the journals required. 3. Carry out analytical reviews of your own work, and that of other members of the team, to help identify and resolve anomalies. 4. Create draft payment runs for clients, ready to be reviewed and approved by other members of the team. 5. Collate information for monthly payroll filings and create draft pay-runs. 6. Help to manage client finance inboxes using our collaborative mailbox tool. Triage and respond to inbound emails as appropriate. 7. Oversee our credit control process on behalf of clients where appropriate, including scheduling outbound emails and filtering responses. 8. Coordinate closely with our teams in London by phone, using our task management system, and by messenger.
