First, on budget: $5,000–10,000 NZD is well above the going rate for a tri-fold pamphlet of this scope — typical professional pricing in NZ sits around $400–700 NZD for what you've described, and that's what I'd bid. If the higher figure reflects something I'm not seeing in the brief (a full brand identity refresh, ongoing print management, additional collateral) I'm happy to scope that separately. Second, on tools: I work in GIMP for digital design rather than InDesign/Illustrator. For digital PDF use (email, website download, on-screen viewing) this is no issue and I'll deliver a polished print-quality PDF at 300dpi. For physical print however — actual brochures from a print shop — the standard requires CMYK colour-managed files, which is a weakness of GIMP. So the honest answer is: I can deliver an excellent digital pamphlet, and a print-ready PDF that will work for most local digital print services (Officeworks-equivalent, Vistaprint), What I'd bring: • 15+ years of design and digital painting work — the visual craft is solid • A clean, modern, warm-but-professional layout in your black-and-white palette as you described • Logo integration, clear hierarchy for older readers (generous spacing, larger body text, high contrast) • Both a tri-fold layout for print and a single-page version optimised for digital sharing • Two rounds of revisions
