Good day - Thank you for posting this interesting project! I don't often see Afrikaans transcription projects here on Freelancer. I have extensive experience in transcribing audio files, including court cases, disciplinary hearings, interviews conducted for post-graduate research, contracts, and more. I also participated in the Loft 2 AI training project, where I did transcription, proof reading, editing, and segmenting tasks. My main source of income is software development; I am an experienced software developer, but have a deep love for working with words. Afrikaans is my home language, and I can speak and understand it at an expert level both socially and professionally. I am fully bilingual with English being my second language. I also understand French well and can speak it to a limited extent. I have an academic background, and that in combination with my previous transcription work in the academic and legal fields especially taught me the importance of paying attention to detail and working in a structured way. Hi! I am a native Afrikaans speaker based in South Africa. I have been an Afrikaans Translation Volunteer for the Organisation of Transformative Works for the past five years. I am excellent at both written and spoken Afrikaans, which would make me a fantastic candidate for this project. I have also previously completed Afrikaans translation projects here on Freelancer. I can be available on a half-day basis - roughly 24 hours per week. If more weekly hours is necessary, we can assess the needs on a case-by-case basis. I believe I would be the perfect candidate for this project with my Afrikaans skills as well as my background in transcription I am a native Afrikaans speaker that has been living in South Africa my entire life. Not only am I a native speaker, but I also obtained a BA (Language) and a BAHons (Translation) which focused on the Afrikaans and English language. After graduation, I started working at Pixelogic Media where I developed my skills in English transcription and subtitling and learned the basic style and standards for transcription. While working at Pixelogic Media and other companies, I completed freelance transcriptions in Afrikaans and English for language agencies. I can offer you 5 hours a day, to listen and translate, I am able to meet and WhatsApp when with the client, if arranged, (time differences taken into account).
