I am using AWS CodeStar to manage the development of a Django application. The default CloudFormation file creates an instance, assigns a public IP, etc... I'm looking for this default file to be modified to include the following: - Don't assign public IP to instance - Put ELB in front of instance - Force SSL (and forward http to https) - Provision certificate in Certificate Manager (domain is already verified and is managed in Rt 53) - Assign certificate to ELB - Associate hostname [login to view URL] with instance (using user data) - Associate hostname [login to view URL] in Route 53 to ELB I believe that should be all is required to get the SSL configuration as part of the CloudFormation build. If it's incomplete, I want to rely on your expertise to get it working. Please include the phrase "Let's secure CloudFormation!" in the first portion of your response so I know you actually read this. Please don't waste our collective time if you haven't used CloudFormation to setup SSL for an environment. I'm expecting to pay $100.

Let's secure CloudFormation! I do this too, it's hilarious how many you get. One of my favourites is 'name your pet cat' - either you get nothing, or people get really really confused. Anyhow - I'm Duncan, Certified AWS Solutions Architect. I'd be happy to help you! I'm based in Australia, so the timezone sucks a bit for us, but I am sure we can make it work. I'd also be committing all the code to Github so you can see what's been done and have a record of it.
