Business Central Cost Calculation Fix

I run Business Central 27-cloud and our inventory valuation is off because the system is producing incorrect unit cost calculations. Here is what I need: • Analyse the current AL extensions and standard cost routines that touch inventory management. • Identify the root cause of the incorrect cost calculations (e.g., posting group setup, average vs. FIFO logic, rounding, or event subscriber misfires). • Implement a clean, documented code fix—ideally as a lightweight extension so future upgrades remain painless. • Add meaningful error handling and logging around the calculation so we can trace anomalies instead of discovering them after posting. • Provide a brief technical report and a set of test scenarios that prove the numbers reconcile across item ledger, value entries, and general ledger. Solid experience with Business Central 15 or later in the cloud environment is essential; knowledge of inventory costing events, single-instance codeunit patterns, and VS Code / AL development toolkit will be immediately useful.
