I have a new idea which I would like someone to start a test project with basic functionality for me to proove some of the concepts.
I need a multi-channel chat service for a support department written entirely in VB.Net and compiled as option strict.
The external interface will be either accessed through a web site and eventually via MSN messenger amongst others.
When an external client requests support from the web they will be able to select a topic from a list of potential topics, a chat session should be created and then the external client will be returned a message asking them to wait.
The server should then generate an email and sent it to an email support queue dependant on topic with a URL or some link defining access to the session that the support agent can click to access the chat session.
Ideally the internal session will be conducted purely over HTTP with a DHTML page to refresh pages without the metapage refresh at the support client side. Alternatively the link will activate a local application with a command line parameter to access the chat session. My preference is to entirely conduct the internal porttion over a web service.
Most of that is fairly basic, the additional element that I want to test is the ability to publically show the chat service on MSN for external clients and change the state to busy when all sessions are in use. If an external client clicks for support nd types in their messenger window then the same email should be generated to the support email queue with the detials of the session created. A prompt for the client to wait should be returned.
Finally, at the end of the chat session the entire session content should be email to both parties.
As I am looking for basic functionality I will not be interested in very large bid amounts. Please bare this in mind before bidding.
