I use open office, the most recent one. I have files in .txt. The text files are fine. They are labelled and ready to be used in mail merge - I have a system down for how I get the data in the txt files and it is perfect for using in an open office mail merge scenario. My only problem is, I downloaded a new version of mail merge. I now have NO idea how to use open office to make labels for doing mass mailings -- labels to go on the envelopes. I use avery labels, 5160, very standard labels, 30 to a page.
I do not have time to reverse engineer this. I spent 4 hours trying to figure out why I was not able to produce mailing labels from my text files. There is some gap from .txt ---> printed envelope address labels -- and I cannot figure it out. Please OPEN OFFICE expert, help!!!
