I need a two-step Shopify Flow that reacts the moment any product moves from a positive inventory level to zero (or below), and again when stock is replenished. Step 1 – Stock hits zero or less • Automatically set the product status to ARCHIVED so it disappears from the store. • Create a URL redirect that sends the former product page to /collections/best-sellers. • Log the change in a connected spreadsheet (Google Sheets is fine) so I have a record of the date, SKU, and action taken. Step 2 – Stock returns above zero • Switch the product status back to ACTIVE. • Remove the specific redirect you created in Step 1. • Write the reversal to the same spreadsheet. Scope & notes • The flow must cover all products in the catalogue; I’m happy with Shopify’s default inventory rules—no custom logic needed beyond the quantity checks described. • I will supply access to a development store where you can build and fully test the automation before I move it to production. • Everything should be managed entirely within Shopify Flow and the standard Admin API endpoints; no external apps are required other than the spreadsheet connection. Acceptance criteria 1. Actions trigger reliably on every inventory change, even via API or bulk upload. 2. Redirects are created and deleted exactly once per product, with no duplicates. 3. Spreadsheet updates show timestamp, product ID/SKU, previous quantity, new quantity, and action performed. 4. Flow is transferred to my live store with clear installation instructions. If you’ve built similar inventory-based automations and can tick off the criteria above, let’s get started.

The key part here is not just hiding out-of-stock products, but making sure the zero-stock and restock events fire cleanly every time without duplicate redirects or messy logs. I’d build this as a two-path Shopify Flow using inventory change conditions, Admin API redirect actions, and structured sheet logging so each archive/reactivation event is recorded once and can be verified easily in testing. I’ve worked on Shopify automations around stock changes, product status handling, redirects, and sheet-based audit logs, so the acceptance criteria you listed are very practical to implement. The main thing to get right is edge-case behavior when inventory updates come from API syncs or bulk imports, and that is exactly what I would test first in the dev store. I can also give you simple install notes for moving it to production cleanly. - Are your products tracked per variant, and should the flow react when the total sellable product inventory reaches 0, or when any single variant does? - For the sheet log, do you already have a spreadsheet set up, or should I create the column structure too?

I’d build this around Shopify Flow’s inventory quantity change trigger, checking the transition from a positive total to 0 or below before archiving the product and redirecting its former handle to /collections/best-sellers. The reversal branch will detect stock returning above zero, reactivate the product, and remove only the matching redirect. I’ll use the standard Shopify Admin GraphQL actions to look up the existing redirect before creating or deleting it, preventing duplicates even when changes arrive through API or bulk upload. Each branch will write the timestamp, product ID, SKU, previous quantity, new quantity, and action to the connected Google Sheet. You’ll receive the tested development-store flows, live-store transfer, and clear installation instructions in 2 days from access. Should /collections/best-sellers remain the fixed destination for every archived product? Muhammad Saad

Hi, Your inventory workflow is the kind of problem that quietly causes stock leaks, broken links, and messy catalog state unless the automation is built with precision. I’ve worked on Shopify + API automations, and I can set up the Flow logic so zero-stock products archive cleanly, redirects are created once, and every reversal is logged in Google Sheets with the right product and SKU history. I’ll also make sure the flow behaves reliably across API updates and bulk imports, then test it in your development store before handing over clear live-store installation steps. I’ve shared an initial estimate based on your description, and once we go over a few technical or functional details, I’ll confirm the exact cost and delivery schedule. Looking forward to your reply so we can finalize the exact plan. Could you confirm whether you want the redirect URL reused on restock, or should it be removed only if it matches the original product page exactly? Thanks, Asad

The important part of this workflow is making the archive/restore cycle dependable across every stock update source, especially API syncs and bulk imports. I’d set it up so the product is archived and redirected only when inventory crosses from positive to zero-or-less, then reactivated and cleaned up only when it crosses back above zero, with each event written to the same audit sheet. I’ve built Shopify workflow automations and admin-side process rules where clean trigger behavior matters more than the setup itself. Your acceptance criteria are sensible, and using a development store first is the right way to confirm the redirect creation/removal and the logging format before anything is moved live. I can keep the setup fully within Shopify Flow plus the standard API endpoints as requested. - Do you want the spreadsheet to log the product handle as well, or only product ID, SKU, quantities, timestamp, and action? - Will I be transferring the finished Flow myself to production, or do you prefer step-by-step instructions and final verification support?

SHOPIFY EXPERT-------------Happy to get started---------------The key here is making the Flow reliable on every inventory change while ensuring each redirect is created and removed exactly once, without duplicates. I can build and test the complete Shopify Flow using the Admin API, including archive/activate actions, product-specific redirects, and Google Sheets logging with SKU, quantities, timestamp, and action. For the redirect, should the URL be based on the product handle/current URL, and should we preserve any existing redirect if one already exists? For Google Sheets, do you already have the sheet/columns and connection ready, or should I configure the Shopify Flow integration and logging structure as part of the setup? I will test API updates and bulk inventory changes in your development store before production transfer. Thanks!

You need this to behave reliably at the inventory-transition level, not just as a basic out-of-stock workaround. The real risk is duplicate redirects, repeated archive actions, or logs that become unusable after API and bulk updates, so I’d structure the Flow around the exact quantity crossing points and make each action idempotent. I’ve handled Shopify admin automation, redirect logic, inventory-based workflow rules, and spreadsheet logging before, including testing against edge cases where stock changes happen outside normal manual edits. With your dev store available, I can build and fully validate both directions first, then provide clean steps to move it into the live store. A couple of details will help lock the setup: - Should the redirect always point to /collections/best-sellers for every product, or do you want that destination configurable later? - If a product has multiple variants, should reactivation happen only when overall product inventory goes above 0?

Hello, I can build and test the two-stage Shopify Flow automation on your development store, covering inventory transitions to zero or below and subsequent replenishment. I’ll configure product archiving, precise collection redirects, reversal handling, and Google Sheets logging with timestamps, product IDs, SKUs, previous and new quantities, and actions. I’ll also validate API and bulk-upload inventory changes, prevent duplicate redirects through reliable conditions, then transfer the tested flows to production with clear installation instructions. A useful improvement would be adding an error/status column in the spreadsheet so any failed Admin API or Sheets action is immediately visible during monitoring. Best regards

Hi there, I can help you with this Shopify Flow automation. I've built inventory-based flows before and the key here is making sure the triggers catch every stock change, including API and bulk updates. That means using the right trigger events and handling the redirect logic carefully so nothing duplicates. The spreadsheet logging part is straightforward, I'll set that up with timestamps and the fields you listed. Happy to work in the dev store first and test it thoroughly before moving to production. I'm Edward, been working with Shopify automations for a while now. Let me know if you want to discuss the details.

Hi, I reviewed the project and understand the main requirement: a Shopify Flow must archive products when inventory reaches zero or less, redirect former product pages, log each action, and restore everything when stock returns. I’ll build and test both inventory-triggered workflows across the catalogue, using Shopify Admin API endpoints to create and remove each product-specific redirect exactly once. The Shopify Flow will capture previous and new quantities, product ID, SKU, timestamp, and action in Google Sheets, while API and bulk-upload changes are verified. JavaScript can support reliable request handling where required. I’ll keep the setup clean, responsive, fully tested in the development store, and provide clear live-store installation instructions. Let’s discuss here now.

Hi, hope you're doing well! This is a well-scoped automation and I can build exactly what you've described using Shopify Flow and the Admin API, with Google Sheets logging included. Here's my approach: Two triggers monitoring inventory level changes, one for zero or below, one for above zero. Each handles status updates, redirect creation or removal, and sheet logging with all required fields. A few questions before I start: 1. Do you have a preferred Google Sheets setup already, or should I create a fresh connected sheet with the column structure you need? 2. Should the archive trigger fire only when a variant hits zero, or when all variants of a product are out of stock? 3. Is there a priority order if multiple products go out of stock simultaneously via bulk upload? Ready to build and test on your dev store first, then hand off with clear install docs. Azeem Amin
